People want a web site for a number of reasons:
- To share information about products, services, ideas or opinions
- To persuade others
- To provide information
- To gather information
- To communicate with others
Who will use your site?
Before designing and building your site you need a clear idea of who will visit your site, what they want from it and what impression you want to leave them with
You need to do the following:
- Describe in detail who you or the people you are designing the site for are
- What impression they want to leave on their site visitors
- What they are offering to their visitors
- Who their competitors are
- How and what information they want to collect from visitors
- What other organisations you would want to provide links to your site
- What other sites you might provide links for on your site
- List your potential visitors, identifying why they might visit your site and how you want them to respond
Create a table that outlines the above information so the web designer can include all the features needed and design an overall structure for the site
